Rachel (Hye Jung) Kim, a South Korean pianist, began her musical journey at the age of 7. She has earned top prizes at the National Student Music Contest, the Se-jong Competition, and the Korea-Japan Exchange Concert.
Her passion for music and education led her to earn a Bachelor of Music from Anyang University and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Sung-Shin Women’s University. During her graduate studies, she was selected for the Korea Collaborative Pianists Association’s rookie audition and performed at the H. Wolf 100th Anniversary Concert. After moving to Toronto in 2005, she obtained the ARCT diploma in Piano Performance and the LRCM diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).
Rachel has built a distinguished career as both a solo pianist and collaborative artist, performing in solo recitals, chamber concerts, masterclasses, and music festivals. Known for her exceptional sight-reading skills, she has collaborated with violinists, cellists, vocalists, and instrumental ensembles, performing works across genres from art songs to major concertos.
Since 2012, she has been a member of Piarmonia, a piano ensemble with over 50 solo concerts and 30 guest appearances across Ontario, and has released two albums with proceeds donated to music education initiatives. She has also served as pianist and choir accompanist at Vaughan Community Church (2008–2024) and as a piano instructor at the University Presbyterian Church’s Reaching Up Music School, a program providing free private lessons to underprivileged youth.
In 2020, Rachel completed the RCM Advanced Piano Teaching Course and is now an RCM curriculum instructor at Canada Music Pedagogy and piano instructor at the Jane Finch Reaching Up Music School. As founder and director of R.K. Piano Studio, she is dedicated to training the next generation of musicians, combining performance excellence with mentorship and community engagement.
As the director of Soundbridge.society, a non-profit organization, Rachel is developing intergenerational projects that use music to inspire positive change and strengthen community connections.
Hanna Kim has over 25 years of professional playing and teaching experience. She was a teaching professor at Chung-Ang University and an associate professor at Seoul National University of Education in Korea. Hanna's playing has been described as a highly intuitive violinist. Her sense of the music shines through her performances.
Hanna earned her Doctoral degree in musical performance from Trossingen University of Music, Germany, in 2014, preceded by master's and bachelor's degrees from Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts, Germany, in 2011.
Her musical journey has earned her numerous international music awards, including prestigious honors such as "CITTA DI BARLETTA," "PADOVA," and "LUIGI ZANUCCOLI." She has performed on stages across Germany, Russia, China, and beyond, captivating audiences with solo recitals and as a featured soloist with renowned orchestras.
Adding to her impressive repertoire, Hanna has released her solo album titled "MERCY" and contributed to the BEVIOLINCE album "GRACE," showcasing her versatility and artistry as a violinist. Furthermore, she shares her passion for music as the host of "Hanna's Music&More" on Toronto Christian Broadcasting.
With her expertise in performance, teaching, and musical exploration, Hanna Kim continues to inspire audiences worldwide with her profound musical expression and dedication.
Hanna currently resides in the Toronto area and holds the Concertmaster position with the celebrated Ontario Philharmonic.
Elizabeth Kim is a distinguished pianist and dedicated music educator with a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Dankook University Graduate School in South Korea. She has taught piano at the university level and is a registered teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).
Since 2006, she has served as the Music Director of University Presbyterian Church in Toronto, leading its music ministry with both artistry and vision. In 2009, she became the Music Coordinator of Jane-Finch Reaching Up Music School, where she has been passionately committed to providing accessible, high-quality music education to children and adults in underserved communities.
Elizabeth is also the founder and leader of Piarmonia, a professional piano ensemble established in 2012. Under her leadership, Piarmonia has performed nearly 50 concerts and released two albums, with all concert proceeds donated to support the programs of Jane-Finch Reaching Up Music School. Her work as both performer and community leader reflects her unwavering dedication to using music as a tool for inspiration, education, and social impact.
At the age of 16, violinist Stella Hwaeun Song left South Korea to study under Professors Michael Gaiser and Valery Gradow at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she earned her Doctorate in Violin Performance as head of her class. Recognized for her warm tone and expressive depth, she received a special prize at the Smoltz Bickenbach Competition in Germany.
She has performed widely across Europe as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing with the George Enescu Philharmonic (Romania), Brno Orchestra (Czech Republic), and at festivals in Becksteinhaus (Germany), Luxembourg, and Lugano (Switzerland). Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Düsseldorf Symphony, Bochum Symphony, and Gürzenich Orchestra Köln.
After returning to Korea in 2010, she joined the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared regularly as a soloist at major venues including the Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and Kumho Art Hall. She also served as a lecturer at Jeju National University and Chongshin University, contributing to the next generation of violinists through her teaching.
Now based in Ontario, Canada, Stella is the Founder and Director of the York Region Youth Orchestra, a registered charity devoted to nurturing young musicians and enriching the cultural life of the community. Through her leadership and mentorship, she continues to inspire the next generation while dedicating her artistry to the growth of music and culture in her community.
Baritone Jay Jung, Grand Prize winner of the Annapolis Opera Competition, has performed leading roles in numerous operas including Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Falstaff, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, and La Bohème with various opera companies in the U.S. and Canada. As a recitalist, he has appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Washington, D.C., and in the Toronto area. Born in Seoul, Korea and currently residing in Toronto, Mr. Jung holds voice/opera diplomas and Master’s/Bachelor’s degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Temple University in Philadelphia, and Yonsei University in Seoul.
Pianist Hubert Hyuk Kim earned his Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Performance from the College of Music at Yonsei University in South Korea. He continued his advanced studies in Germany at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, specializing in solo performance. He further pursued postgraduate training in Austria at the Konservatorium Wien, focusing on vocal and instrumental accompaniment as well as opera coaching.
He has collaborated in hundreds of recitals and concerts as a highly sought-after accompanist.
As an educator, he has served as an adjunct professor at Korea National University of Arts, Chung-Ang University, Seoul Jangsin University, Korea Nazarene University, and Seoul Institute of the Arts. He also taught as a professor of music at East Toronto Theological College.
He led the Sohrae Youth Orchestra in Toronto for over 15 years and is currently the conductor of the Hallelujah Choir at Vaughan Community Church in Canada.
Soprano Youngsong Lee graduated from the College of Music at Ewha Womans University in South Korea. She pursued advanced vocal training in Italy at the Accademia Internazionale di Arte Lirica and the Accademia Musicale di Firenze, and earned her diploma with Honours from the Conservatorio Rinaldo Franci. She was awarded First Prize in the Vittorio Baglioni Scholarship Competition.
Her operatic credits in Korea include leading roles in Un Ballo in Maschera, Amelia Goes to the Ball, La Vera Costanza, Hänsel und Gretel, and L’enfant et les sortilèges. She also appeared in an opera gala performance of The Magic Flute and has presented two solo recitals.
She has previously taught at Dong-A University, the Christian College of Music, and Yeaum Theological Seminary, and served as a professor of music at East Toronto Theological College.
She currently serves as the conductor of the Vaughan Charis Choir and the Vaughan Men’s Choir at Vaughan Community Church in Canada.
Haeryong Cho earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Ewha Womans University and completed the highest-level performance program at the Glinka State Conservatory in Russia. She became the first East Asian musician to receive a diploma at a Russian chamber music competition named after Elena Abrazova and won First Prize at the Korean Art Song Competition. She has worked as an adjunct professor at Ewha Womans University, Busan National University, and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Music. Additionally, she served as principal soloist and coach at the Ho Chi Minh Opera House. She has actively performed across Europe, Asia, and the United States and is currently a professor at Canada Christian College.
Vietnam-born clarinetist Andrew Dao was selected as the youngest national scholarship recipient at age 13 and entered the preparatory school of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow. He completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees there and further specialized in chamber music at the Glinka State Conservatory, graduating from the highest-level performance program. He has performed internationally, including in South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Norway, and the U.S. In South Korea, he received the "Best Foreign Performer Award" from a United Nations-affiliated organization. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Inje University, Gyeongnam University, and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Music, and served as deputy director of an opera theater. He is currently a professor at Canada Christian College.
Christine Bae is a collaborative pianist and vocal coach based in Toronto. She earned degrees from Chugye University for the Arts and Ewha Womans University in Korea, and completed an Advanced Certificate in Performance, a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano, and a Diploma in Operatic Performance at the University of Toronto. Since 2012, she has been a founding member of Piarmonia, continuing to perform actively in ensemble settings. She has also contributed as a pianist with Highlands Opera Studio, including in 2024 and 2025, and has collaborated with many of Canada’s leading vocal artists.
Christine currently serves as a Staff Pianist at the University of Toronto Opera School, where she mentors and inspires the next generation of musicians.
Tenor MooSung Jung studied vocal performance at the Church Music Department of Anyang University in Korea and built a solid musical foundation as a full-time member of the Seongnam City Choir, a historic and prestigious choral ensemble in Korea.
Since 1995, he has conducted church choirs at Jamsil Church and several other churches, earning recognition for his exceptional leadership and musical insight.
After relocating to Toronto in 2017, he led the Immanuel and Hosanna Choirs at Yeomkwang Church until 2022, fulfilling his calling as a music ministry leader. With a wide-ranging repertoire spanning opera, art songs, and contemporary music, a rich vocal range, and commanding stage presence, he captivates audiences and has been actively invited to perform at CMCA concerts in Toronto, Owen Sound music festivals, and various Korean community music events.
Mezzo-soprano Hyunhee Kim graduated first in her class from Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea, where she built a strong foundation as a professional vocalist. She has appeared as a soloist with the Sejong Center Orchestra and served as Principal Alto of the Asan City Choir.
Her stage career spans musicals, opera, and concert repertoire. She has performed in productions of Les Misérables and Scrooge, appeared in the original Korean opera Yi Sun-sin, and sung extensively in The Magic Flute. She has also been featured annually in the Grand Choral Festival at the Seoul Arts Center.
Her operatic highlights include a leading role in Dido’s Lament, and she has been invited as a guest soloist with the Toronto Korean Choir and the Yemel Choir.
Irish Ghang earned her Bachelor’s degree in Church Music (Piano) from Seoul Theological University in South Korea and later obtained both the RCM Grade 10 Certificate and the ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance in Toronto. With over 25 years of professional experience, she has served widely as a piano accompanist for choirs, churches, solo recitals, and community concerts. Her career highlights include positions with Yeoido Full Gospel Church, Deokwon Arts High School, and Toronto Milal Church, as well as international service in Paraguay. Since 2002, she has maintained a thriving private studio while also volunteering as a piano teacher and performer at Reaching Up Music School, contributing to various ministries through both performance and administration. Her background demonstrates a lifelong commitment to collaborative performance, music education, and community service.
