Lobby Concert with SoundBridge – West Park Healthcare Centre

An afternoon when music filled the hospital lobby and brought patients, families, and staff together.

SoundBridge Society visited West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto for a special lobby concert featuring Hanna Kim, violin, and Rachel Kim, piano.

As the sound of violin and piano began to fill the open lobby, something especially meaningful happened. Patients who heard the music from different areas of the hospital gradually came to the lobby to listen, turning the space into an unexpected gathering place for live music.

Some stayed for the full performance, while others paused on their way through the hospital. Seeing patients come toward the music and gather together reminded us how naturally live music can invite connection, even in a place where people may be facing difficult or uncertain days.

For SoundBridge, hospital concerts are about bringing music directly into everyday spaces where it can reach people unexpectedly. We hope that for those who joined us that afternoon, the music offered a moment of comfort, enjoyment, and a welcome change in their day.

Afternoon Concert with SoundBridge – St. Matthew’s Bracondale House

SoundBridge Society visited St. Matthew’s Bracondale House in Toronto for a special afternoon concert featuring Hanna Kim, violin, and Rachel Kim, piano.

The residents welcomed us with wonderful warmth and enthusiasm, making the performance feel especially personal and joyful. Through a program of familiar and engaging music, we shared moments of listening, smiling, and connecting together.

One of the most meaningful parts of our outreach concerts is seeing how naturally music opens the door to connection. Regardless of age or background, a familiar melody can bring back memories, lift the spirit, and turn an ordinary afternoon into something shared and memorable.

Opening Celebration – Rodem Retreat Center

A beautiful afternoon of music surrounded by nature, celebrating a new beginning at Rodem Retreat Center.

SoundBridge Society was delighted to be part of the opening celebration of Rodem Retreat Center in Bracebridge, sharing live music in the peaceful beauty of Muskoka.

Set outdoors among the trees and greenery, Hanna Kim, violin, and Rachel Kim, piano, performed for guests gathered to celebrate the opening of this special new space. The natural surroundings created a uniquely peaceful setting, where music and nature came together beautifully.

With the theme “Beautiful, Joyful, Peaceful,” the afternoon was a celebration not only of a new beginning, but also of the importance of creating spaces for rest, reflection, and connection.

For SoundBridge, it was especially meaningful to bring music beyond our usual concert settings and share it in a place dedicated to renewal and community.

We were grateful to be part of this beautiful beginning and wish Rodem Retreat Center many years of peace, joy, and meaningful connections in the years ahead.

Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital

Bringing live music into the heart of the hospital for staff, patients, families, and visitors.

Following our morning concert at Lakeridge Gardens, SoundBridge Society continued the day with a special lunchtime performance in the main lobby of Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital.

Featuring Hanna Kim, violin, Yoona Jhon, cello, and Rachel Kim, piano, the trio shared live music in an open hospital space where staff, patients, families, and visitors could pause and enjoy the performance as they went about their day.

A hospital can be a busy and sometimes difficult place, not only for patients and their families, but also for the dedicated healthcare professionals who care for them each day. We hoped that, even for a few moments, the music could offer a sense of calm, comfort, and renewal in the middle of their day.

Some stopped to listen, while others enjoyed the music from nearby as they ate lunch, worked, or passed through the lobby. These simple moments of connection are exactly why bringing live music into shared community spaces is so meaningful to us.

We were grateful for the opportunity to share music with the Lakeridge Health community and hope our performance brought a little warmth and encouragement to everyone who heard it.

SoundBridge Society visited Lakeridge Gardens in Ajax for a special morning concert featuring a piano trio of Hanna Kim, violin, Yoona Jhon, cello, and Rachel Kim, piano.

Surrounded by Canada Day decorations and a wonderful audience, our musicians shared a lively and uplifting program with residents. It was a pleasure to see so many residents gathered together, enjoying the music and sharing the morning with us.

For SoundBridge, these concerts are about more than performing. They are about creating moments when residents can step away from their daily routines, enjoy something beautiful together, and feel refreshed and connected through live music.

A special afternoon of familiar melodies, shared memories, and joyful moments with Korean seniors.

SoundBridge Society visited Oakville Amenida for a heartwarming afternoon concert featuring Hanna Kim, violin, Hanna Kim, soprano, and Rachel Kim, piano.

This concert was especially meaningful as we shared music with Korean seniors through songs and melodies close to their hearts. As familiar tunes filled the room, residents naturally began to sing along, clap to the music, and even dance with us. The room soon filled with smiles, laughter, and wonderful energy.

Moments like these remind us that music is more than something we simply listen to. A familiar melody can bring back cherished memories, awaken emotions, and create an immediate connection between people.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and shared this beautiful afternoon. It was a wonderful reminder that music can be one of the warmest languages through which we connect, remember, and find joy together.

Canada Day Celebration Concert – Chartwell Grenadier Retirement Residence

Celebrating Canada Day through music, togetherness, and a wonderful afternoon shared with the Grenadier community.

SoundBridge Society was delighted to celebrate Canada Day with the residents of Chartwell Grenadier Retirement Residence through a special concert presented in collaboration with Concerts in Care Ontario.

The program featured SoundBridge musicians Jay Jung, baritone, Hanna Kim, violin, and Rachel Kim, piano, with a festive selection of music prepared especially for the occasion.

There is always something special about performing for a community that welcomes music with such warmth. Throughout the afternoon, residents joined us with smiles, singing, and heartfelt applause, creating a joyful atmosphere that made this Canada Day celebration especially memorable.

We are grateful to the residents and staff of Chartwell Grenadier for their warm hospitality, and to Concerts in Care Ontario for continuing to create meaningful opportunities for professional musicians to connect with seniors through live music.

SoundBridge Fundraising Concert – Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church

A meaningful afternoon of music, community, and generosity in support of SoundBridge’s outreach concerts for seniors.

On June 6, SoundBridge Society held a special Fundraising Concert at Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, welcoming nearly 200 guests for an afternoon filled with music and connection.

The concert featured five SoundBridge musicians — baritone Jay Jung, violinists Hanna Kim and Stella Song, and pianists Rachel Kim and Hubert Kim. Together, they presented a varied program of classical and semi-classical works, sharing both solo and ensemble performances with the audience.

This concert was especially meaningful to SoundBridge, as all proceeds were dedicated to supporting our ongoing outreach concerts for seniors. Every contribution helps us continue bringing professional live music directly to senior residences, long-term care homes, hospitals, and communities where music can offer moments of joy, comfort, and connection.

We were truly grateful to see nearly 200 members of our community come together in support of this mission. The warmth of the audience, the generosity of our supporters, and the dedication of our musicians made the afternoon one we will remember for a long time.

SoundBridge President Rachel Kim recently presented a lecture-concert titled “Stories of Faith and Life in Song” at Vaughan Community Senior Centre.

This interactive program invited participants to explore the stories, history, and meaning behind many well-loved songs while enjoying live performances and opportunities to sing together. The event created a warm and engaging atmosphere where music became a bridge for conversation, reflection, and shared memories.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. On March 8, 2026, SoundBridge Society presented a special International Women’s Day Celebration Concert at Chartwell Grenadier Retirement Residence in Toronto. The concert was hosted and organized by Concerts in Care Ontario, who invited us to share this meaningful afternoon with the residents.

Violinist Hanna Kim and pianist Rachel Kim performed an engaging program that was warmly received by the audience. Residents responded with enthusiastic applause, and many shared how deeply moved they were by the performance. One resident even commented that the concert was “15 out of 10” and one of the best performances they had experienced.

For the first time since the pandemic, the Jane Finch Reaching Up Music School held its Christmas Concert. It was a joyful and meaningful gathering where students, who have worked hard throughout the year, and volunteer teachers (SoundBridge artists) came together to encourage and celebrate one another.

The program featured a wide variety of performances—from adorable student carols to piano solos and violin performances, teacher-student duets, and a beautiful ensemble by Philharmonia. It was truly a diverse and heartwarming concert.

The evening was warm, joyful, and filled with generosity.
All donations were dedicated to supporting mission efforts in Guatemala.

As the music filled the beautifully lit performance room, the audience listened with calm attention—many smiling, gently moving to the melodies, and fully embracing the moment.
The atmosphere quickly became one of peace, connection, and shared appreciation for live classical music.

This visit was another reminder of how music can uplift hearts, offer comfort, and bring people together in a truly meaningful way.

On November 24, SoundBridge Society visited Lakeshore Lodge Long-Term Care Home to present another heartwarming Senior Outreach Concert with Concerts in Care (CIC).
Residents listened with deep attention—some smiling softly, others moving gently to the music—and the atmosphere quickly became one of connection and comfort.

At the end of the program, we closed the concert with familiar Christmas songs, inviting everyone to sing together.
Hearing the residents’ voices join in created a touching moment of unity that beautifully wrapped up the afternoon. 🎄💛

With each piece, we felt a genuine connection as smiles, gentle nods, and quiet moments of reflection filled the room.
It was a beautiful reminder of how live music can bring warmth and comfort to the heart, especially when shared in such a caring community. 💛🎻

On November 14, SoundBridge Society was invited to Maple Health Centre to present a special Senior Outreach Lobby Concert for residents across the facility.
With gentle violin and piano melodies filling the open lobby space, the afternoon brought warmth, comfort, and a calming sense of connection to many seniors.

Despite the quiet challenges many residents face daily, the concert created a moment of joy and peace — attentive smiles, closed eyes listening deeply, and hands softly swaying to the music.

On the first snowy day of the season, SoundBridge was invited to present a Fall Music Concert at KW Korean Presbyterian Church.
With warm autumn melodies performed by Rachel Hyejung Kim (Piano), Hanna Kim (Violin), and Moosung Jung (Tenor), the evening brought comfort and joy to everyone who gathered.

Despite the chilly weather outside, the concert hall was filled with warmth — heartfelt music, grateful smiles, and a beautiful sense of community.

Dialogue of Two Violins

The violin duo concert “Dialogue of Two Violins”, featuring Hanna Kim and Stella Song with pianist Hubert Kim, was held on November 8, 2025, at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Markham.

The performance was completely sold out, filling the hall with an enthusiastic audience.
From Pablo de Sarasate to Piazzolla, the evening showcased a dynamic and expressive program that captivated listeners from beginning to end.

The concert concluded with a full standing ovation, reflecting the audience’s deep appreciation for the artists’ remarkable musical synergy and artistry.

It was an unforgettable night of violin dialogue, passion, and connection through music. 🎻✨

Piarmonia for Jane Finch Reaching Up

Piarmonia Piano Ensemble presented a beautiful fundraising concert in support of Reaching Up (Jane–Finch) at Knox Presbyterian Church on October 25, 2025.
Through heartfelt music and community generosity, the event successfully gathered both financial donations and essential goods.

All funds and donated items from the concert will be delivered through Reaching Up to support children and youth in the Jane–Finch community.
